Milano F&W Festival, third act

The festival that unites great wines and signature cuisine is back. Here’s all you need to know

The dessert cart of the Cerea brothers from Vittor

The dessert cart of the Cerea brothers from Vittorio in Brusaporto (Bergamo), will once again be the absolute protagonist, on the occasion of the third edition of the Milano Food&Wine Festival, on February 8-10th 2014 at MiCo in via Gattamelata. On top of the wines of over 100 wine producers and the dishes prepared by dozens of great chefs, this year there will also be the Mondadori Food Experience

There are only a few days left until the Milano Food&Wine Festival. After the great success of the first two editions, the event dedicated to great wine and signature cuisine protagonists returns from Saturday 8th to Monday 10th February 2014. It will give the chance to freely taste 400 wines brought by 100 (Italian and international) wine producers, selected by Helmuth Köcher, president and founder of the Merano WineFestival. For over 20 years, professionals and enthusiasts have considered the latter event as a point of reference in the wine world, an important chance to meet the producers in person.

In Milan, instead, it will be possible to match the available wines with the high cuisine dishes prepared by 24 chefs, pastry and pizza chefs, invited by Paolo Marchi, creator of Identità Golose, the almost concurring congress on signature cuisine (9-11th February), which this year reaches its tenth edition. Both at lunchtime and dinnertime, during the three days of the Festival, the chefs will in turn present the “Great dishes of Italian cuisine” which the audience will be able to buy and comfortably enjoy in the restaurant created on the occasion.

On Sunday February 9th, from 1 to 3 pm, people will satisfy their appetite with "Grande cucina, piccoli piatti" (Great cuisine, small dishes), a space in which to enjoy the tasty delicacies proposed at the same time by the chefs of 6 different restaurants, from Cesare Battisti of Ratanà to Giovanni Traversone and Marco Tronconi of Trattoria del Nuovo Macello, from Daniel Canzian of Daniel to the Damini brothers of Damini e Affini, from Riccardo Orfino of Ladybù to Andrea Provenzani of Il Liberty. On top of them, every day it will be possible to satiate the lunchtime appetite with the delicious cured meats prepared by Massimo and Luciano Spigaroli (Antica Corte Pallavicina in Polesine Parmense, Parma), while the afternoon craving for desserts will be happily satisfied by the irresistible buffet prepared by the Cerea brothers (Da Vittorio in Brusaporto, Bergamo). And this is only the tip of the tasty iceberg that involves many other protagonists of the Milanese signature cuisine. In order to start to taste the delicacies available with your mind, find more about the protagonists and their dishes here.

Among the novelties of edition 2014 there’s the Food Experience Mondadori, 3 days of cooking classes, cooking-shows and guided tastings for adults and children, the participation in which is included in the entrance ticket to the Festival. In order to participate, you can purchase your ticket in advance on ticketone.it for 27.50 euros until February 7th and from the ticket office during the festival for 30 euros.
