David Chang is executive chef and owner of Momofuku Noodle Bar, Momofuku Ssäm Bar, Momofuku Ko and Momofuku Bakery & Milk Bar, all in New York’s East Village. Since 2010 he has also been co-chef and owner of Má Pêche, the new restaurant of the luxurious Chambers Hotel. Since the opening of the Noodle Bar in 2004, this young South Korean has collected a long list of acknowledgments and flattering mentions in the press: Food & Wine Magazine, Bon Appétit, New Yorker, Gourmet… But the real leap forward came with the title of "Man of the year" assigned by GQ USA, and, above all, when he was named of “one of the most influential people of the century” by Esquire, alongside politicians and scientists.

Ssäm Bar has now become a permanent fixture in the ranking of the 50 Best Restaurants. Not to mention the two Michelin stars received in 2009 by Momofuku Ko, the most fine dining restaurant of all. His first book, Momofuku, published in spring 2009 is already widely quoted. The power of a chef who, in just a few years, has been consolidated as one of the most interesting entertainers of the Big Apple, a young chef who’s very good at mixing up his Asian memories with contemporary New York vitality, in restaurants with absolutely no frills. A talent exported also to Sydney (2011) and Toronto (2012).
