Identità’s tenth guide has come

786 restaurants from 36 countries, 13 young stars and 105 authors: online as of today on www.guidaidentitagolose.it

As of today, 14th November 2016, the second editio

As of today, 14th November 2016, the second edition entirely online (the tenth overall) of the Guida ai Ristoranti di Identità Golose 2017 is online at www.guidaidentitagolose.it. «Many people», says Paolo Marchi in “Digitali e felici”, the brand new introduction to the 2017 Guide «ask us if we are happy. Indeed we are. We feel like those who first transformed postal stations into petrol stations one hundred years ago»

Exactly twelve months have passed since the first online edition of Guida ai Ristoranti d’Italia, Europa e Mondo di Identità Golose and today it’s time to present the second one. It’s the tenth edition overall, 8 “in paper” and 2 online. The guide can be browsed entirely online, for free. An important choice which one year later we vindicate and relaunch.

«Many people», says Paolo Marchi in “Digitali e felici” [Digital and Happy], the brand new introduction to the 2017 Guide, sharing the idea of partner Claudio Ceroni of Magentabureau, «ask us if we’re happy with the choice made on the eve of Expo Milano 2015. We are indeed. We feel like those who one hundred years ago first transformed their postal stations into petrol stations».

Right after that, an important concept: «It’s not just a question of correcting typos, fixing the content written under the wrong establishment, revising a misspelled name. There’s much more, even in terms of reviews. You can add one and remove two when necessary, you can fix the text on the go. An online guide never ages and this has changed the way in which we all work and think... It really is something completely different, a way of acting in line with the times, a more journalistic and complete approach. We love it immensely. We also love it because we were the first in Italy to make this great leap from rotary to virtual press and we surely are the very first in the world».

Finally, «we liked 2016 very much because it follows a 2015 characterised by Expo in Milan, by a year dominated in Italy by a strong attraction to food in every shape. After 6 months of World Fair we could have witnessed a decreased in the general interest. But this was not the case. People are more aware of restaurants, sustainability and health».

Let’s try to sum up the most synthetic and representative numbers in the 2017 Guide:

- On the morning of Monday 14th November (this indication is necessary because numbers change every day, more or less), there are 786 restaurant reviews: 545 in Italy and 241 around the world. Last year there were respectively: 694483 and 211. One thought: the online space is endless; since there are no page layouts as in print, or a maximum number of pages, you can add reviews of any deserving restaurant without making painful selections.

- Lombardy is the Italian region with the largest number of reviews: 117 of which 64 only in Milan. We also point out how Piedmont and Tuscany in the north and Apulia and Sicily in the south are very lively: there’s an increasing number of good places and in a growing number of towns.

- Abroad (the reviewed countries are 35), cities like Barcelona, London, New York, Paris are the stars.

- The reviews of the 786 restaurants are signed by 90 contributors: here are their names and profiles. We also thank the internal editorial staff: Silvia CrippaChiara NicoliniMarta ViganòSlawka G. Scarso, Manuel Crippa and Elia Bogani.
