It’s not easy to find a spot at Balobino, wine shop and Osteria owned by 5 brothers, the Quaglias. At lunch it’s never open, and it’s a precious gem to hold close to our hearts. Two halls: one with a fireplace – the Osteria – and one downstairs with the wine shop and an extraordinary selection of cheeses, cold cuts and breads. On the menu: Boiled goose with horseradish and Renetta apple; Duck tortelli with a reduced broth with hints of chestnut; Roasted guinea fowl; Ricotta and caramelized figs ice cream; Sbrisolona. Apart from the cheeses and the cold cuts, house specialties since day one, people come here to eat the goose, prepared in endless ways.
