I love the two patrons at Retrobottega because not only do they have a contemporary approach, but they also don’t accept to be influenced by the choices that many of their colleagues consider inevitable. Among their statements, I like to stress a couple: that «taste comes first»; or that «we’re two because we love an idea of restaurant less focused on chefs, and more focused on the artisanal act of cooking».
And also: «We don’t have single tables here, only social tables» and it’s nice to mingle with people you don’t know. Retrobottega has a strong soul, that of its two patrons. Two formidable weirdos.
