Don Camillo is part of Ortigia's identity, the ancient heart of Siracusa. Here, chef Giovanni Guarneri wrote some beautiful pages of Sicilian haute cuisine, including those devoted to one of the best chocolate cakes ever baked. His Mucco soup (sadly, it’s become almost impossible to prepare) is already a legend. All this would already be enough, but Guarneri likes to keep surprising his guests, and his restaurant is still a factory of culinary inventions. His interpretation of Tiger prawns in their net, wrapped in pork omentum, is astounding. Also: Marinated shrimps with oyster mayonnaise, crispy seaweed and juniper smoke.
