The renovation of Gran Caffè Quadri by Philippe Starck, carried out by Venetian craftsmen, revealed a history that had been erased by many different alterations over the course of the years. Together with executive chef Silvio Giavedoni, Massimiliano Alajmo – the 3-starred chef at Le Calandre who signed the menu – devised a dining offer that honors the Venetian tradition: it’s a constant blend (Fried focaccia with smoked creamed salt cod; Venetian livers and kidneys), yet light and convivial. In conclusion, the dining table here is the perfect complement to such beauty: sophisticated and pleasure-loving, luxurious but informal at the same time.
