The Alajmo family has been devoted to high quality gastronomy since the days of grandfather Vittorio, who ran the cheese stand at Sotto il Salone in Padua. In 1981, his son Erminio Alajmo and Rita Chimetto opened Le Calandre. In 1994 they passed the baton to their sons Massimiliano and Raffaele, who led it to global fame. The dynasty continues these days with Laura, Giovanni, son of Raffaele, dining room manager at Caffe Stern in Paris, at only 22.
