Maria Chiara Sanna was born and raised in Anzio, near Rome. For years she dreamt of opening her own gelateria, following a childhood passion. At last, the dream came true in 2016 with the opening of L’Arte del Gelato. She's the only one responsible for making the gelato in her lab, and she spends entire days at work, with no regrets, because this is what she always desired.
Part of the merit also goes to her husband, with whom she has built a nice family with three children. He was the one to push her, in 2009, to attend the first professional course for gelato makers, where Sanna found proof that her passion wasn't just a dream, but that she had the possibility to excel.
Over the years, she has created over one hundred flavours, which include classics but also many new flavours, in which she can make use of her creativity, respecting all the rules of true artisanal gelato, starting from its main ingredient: fine quality milk, and then using many ingredients sourced locally.
