Born in Florence in 1967, Alessandro Tomberli graduates at 19 from catering school Aurelio Saffi, specialising in dining-room and bar service. In 1985 he attends the sommelier course held by Ais. After his studies, he starts working at Enoteca Pinchiorri, where his dining room careers moves fast: he’s sommelier since 1988 and dining room manager since 1995. Meanwhile, he teaches in various training contexts including Alma in Colorno (Parma) and Noi di Sala, an association for which he represents Tuscany. He has received many awards including: Best sommelier in Italy for the Guide de L’Espresso (2001) And Best Sommelier BIWA – Best Italian Wine Awards (2014).
