Paolo Lorenzoni
Paolo Lorenzoni was born in 1953 in Rome and after attending catering school, started his career in hospitality in the front office of Hotel des Bains in Venice in 1976, before taking the same role at the Holiday Inn St.Peter's in Rome.
He was later nominated front office supervisor at the Grand Hotel in Rome, and then at Hotel Des Iles Borromées in Stresa. After one year of intensive training in the F&B division of various hotels across Europe (including the prestigious Meurice in Paris), he became the banqueting manager at hotel Excelsior in Rome, and later its resident manager.
In August 1998 Lorenzoni moved to Milan where he was the general manager of the The Westin Palace Milan, and then returned to Rome as general manager of The Westin Excelsior.
Since 2009 he’s the general manager at The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Venice.
In 2014 he received the General Manager of the Year Italy award from European Hotel Managers Association (Ehma).
