Bowerman and Delcourt's menu

An extraordinary fourhanded dinner with two excellent protagonists marked by cosmopolitism: two women who are in Italy after discovering the world. Cristina Bowerman, chef at Glass Hostaria in Rome, today plays a duet with Alice Delcourt, of restaurant Erba Brusca in Milan. Every week the “Italian & International Best Chefs” series presents a special event: the chef livening the kitchen of Identità Expo from Wednesday till Sunday will also take part in a special event with a foreign colleague, thus giving life to a truly unique meeting of styles.

"Empire state of mind. A parallel between Vicolo del Cinque and the 5th Avenue, Trastevere and the world. Not to imitate the Americans, but because distances and barriers, both cultural and geographical, in life and in the kitchen, only exist in the mind of those who build them. So welcome to games without frontiers featuring Cristina Bowerman from Cerignola, Foggia", says Federico de Cesare Viola when presenting this woman who divided her life between Apulia, the United States and Rome.
She graduated in Law in Bari and then continued her law studies in San Francisco. While in the US, she took a second degree in Culinary Arts at the Culinary Academy of Austin, Texas. This time it was the right choice. In 2004 she returned to Italy after her experience overseas at Driskill Grill; she then worked at Angelo Troiani’s Al Convivio in Rome. In the same town she later opened her Glass Hostaria. A success story also analysed by Università Bocconi.
She was nominated Best Female Chef at Identità Milano in 2013. She’s an Expo 2015 ambassador.

As for Delcourt, she’s the soul and founder of Erba Brusca. She looks Brazilian, in fact she grew up in the States but was born in France to an English mother. In other words, she’s a cosmopolitan deep inside and when she cooks too. Italian by passion, she arrived in our country a long time ago and trained in the kitchens of many restaurants. She only travels by bike and has a soft spot for lemon ice-lollies with a liquorice stick. Her favourite dish: baked beans on toast.
