Marcos Di Battista
Originally from La Plata, Argentina, but with Italian roots, Marcos Di Battista moved to Mexico early on and began his journey as an entrepreneur in the gastronomy sector.
In 2019, he co-founded Handshake Speakeasy in Mexico City alongside Rodrigo Urraca and Erik Van Beek. However, his role as an "architect of innovative projects" didn’t stop there. In 2023, he expanded his vision to San Miguel De Allende, launching Tunki Rooftop By Handshake, a cocktail bar with a spectacular view on the rooftop of Casa de Sierra Nevada, a Belmond Hotel. The following year, in 2024, he unveiled Bambuco By Handshake, located within Maroma, A Belmond Hotel in the Riviera Maya.
Di Battista’s entrepreneurial drive didn’t stop at bars. Also in 2024, he embarked on a project to create his own vermouth and bitter, a tribute to his Italian heritage.
