Born in 1970 in Hørsholm, Henrik Yde-Andersen is, together with Lertchai Treetawatchaiwong, the chef-owner of 7 Thai and Asian restaurants in Copenhagen. A sort of global authority on the subject of Thai, as well as Chinese, Vietnamese and Malaysian cuisine, his interest in the cuisine of Bangkok and the surroundings started at the beginning of the millennium, thanks to 4 years during which he travelled North and South of the Indochinese capital, in order to decrypt the secrets of a cuisine that was then still inaccessible in the western world. All this after learning the ropes in Danish restaurants such as Hotel Plaza, Le Sommelier and Paul Cunningham’s The Paul.

Among all the restaurants owned by Yde, the flagship one is today Kiin Kiin in Nørrebro, in Copenhagen, one Michelin star, opened in 2006. This, however, is only the tip of the iceberg of an empire that is gradually expanding and that counts 6 more establishments in the Danish capital – modern Chinese Dim Sum, Asian bistro Yuma, Thai take away Aroi, Asian bistros Aroidee, Chai Wong and Ricemarket – plus an eighth restaurant in Bangkok, namely Kempinski’s Sra Bua.
