For its second year in the Windy City, Identitá Golose partners with the world-famous Merano WineFestival to host Identitá Chicago, showcasing the great wines and renowned cuisine of Italy through a two-day series of carefully curated events.
Identitá Chicago begins with two head-to-head chef master classes moderated by CBS 2 Chicago Reporter, Vince Gerasole, and features award-winning chefs from Italy and the U.S. Each seminar, the chefs will be tasked to create a dish that best represents an “Homage to Italy.” The educational and interactive seminars will take place inside La Scuola in Eataly and will feature discussions about today’s global culinary trends and techniques. Guests will sample each of the chefs’ dishes paired with an Italian wine. Tickets are priced at $75 can be purchased on the Eataly Chicago website.
These educational master classes include Chicago chefs Andrew Zimmerman of Sepia and Giuseppe Tentori of GT Fish & Oyster, Italian chefs Cristina Bowerman of Glass Hostaria in Rome and Heinz Beck La Pergola in Rome.
Later that evening, Identitá Chicago will host a four-course dinner at Baffo at Eataly that brings together two acclaimed Italian chefs, Heinz Beck and Christina Bowerman, and two award-winning American chefs, Giuseppe Tentori and Alex Pilas. Chef Lidia Bastianich will lead the team of culinary luminaries, presenting guests with a communal dining experience showcasing progressive Italian dishes and wine pairings. The dinner is $150 per person. Guests may reserve their spots for the dinner on the Eataly Chicago website.
The following day, Identitá Golose and the Merano WineFestival will host a one-time-only tasting event pairing 100 of Italy’s most important wines from 30 of the country’s most acclaimed wineries with bites utilizing Italian products at La Scuola—Eataly Chicago’s cooking school. The Merano WineFestival, founded in 1992 by Helmuth Köcher, is one of the world’s largest and most exclusive wine events celebrating the finest selections of Italian and international wines. Tickets are $40 and include all wine and food tastings. Guests may purchase tickets for the tasting on the Eataly Chicago website.
