Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Michael Schlow is one of the most esteemed patron-chefs in the US. He first began as a kitchen hand at 14 and, since then, he’s covered basically every role in a brigade. A lover of Italian cuisine – a passion he nourishes by often travelling to Italy, even with Mario Batali – he’s now a very talented restaurateur, capable of creating successful and profitable businesses. The many restaurants he owns include: Cavatina in Los Angeles, Tico in Boston and Washington DC, Doretta Tavern & Raw Bar also in Boston, Pine in Hanover (New Hampshire), Alta Strada in Wellesley (Massachusetts) and Washington DC and The Riggsby, Conosci and Casolare again in DC. Since 2016, he’s been collaborating with Eataly Boston, in Via Emilia, the spot dedicated to Emilian cuisine: he knows everything about mortadelle and tigelle. Schlow has received countless prizes over they years: “Best chef in the North-East” for the James Beard Foundation, “Best chef in America” for Sante Magazine. His TV appearances in very popular TV shows are also countless: The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Rachel Ray Show, This Morning on CBS… He’s the author of “It’s about time, great recipes for everyday life”. In his free time, he relaxes with golf, music and photography.
