Born in 1975 in Busto Arsizio where she was raised, Lucia Sapia fell in love with ice-creams during a summer job. This love at first sight led her to attend two masters at the Carpigiani Gelato University and, in 2003, she open her first ice cream shop in Castellanza, in the province of Varese. She called it Il Dolce Sogno, her dream and the dream of her twin sister, who unfortunately passed away prematurely.
Lucia’s ice creams are made with natural ingredients, possibly local, the result of a collaboration with a food technician with whom Lucia launched “Metodo Natura”, a special process that uses less sugar and more fibres.
She’s achieved many acknowledgements: in 2006 her ice cream shop was the first to receive the CertiqualityISO 9001:2000 certificate; in 2007 she was a member of the Italian team participating in the Ice Cream World Cup; the following year she was the first woman to win the title of World Ice Cream Champion. In 2009 she opened her second ice cream shop in Cassano Magnago, and in 2016 a third one in Busto Arsizio.
