Before the award parade Paolo Marchi illustrated the 2015 guide: new graphics, lots of content worth reading, as always. Among these pages, there are the "Storie di gola", Palate stories, articles on different cities that have food as their leitmotiv, written by important people in the food and wine business, not only from Italy. Among the many famous authors (Torino by Marco Bolasco, Milan by Pier Bergonzi, Cortina D'Ampezzo by Paolo Marchi, Florence by Marco Stabile, Naples by Nino Di Costanzo, Paris by Enzo Vizzari, London by Jason Atherton, Montréal by Marie Claude Lortie, Tokyo by Yasuhiro Sasajima, Chicago by Tony Montuano, New York by Mario Batali) there’s Alessandro Pipero, who wrote about his Rome.

Then the tasting began for everyone, because the restaurants inside Eataly Smeraldo on this occasion hosted seven super chefs (eight, in fact), who prepared as many specialties: the awarded Gianluca Gorini, Fabrizio Ferrari, Luca De Santi, Marianna Vitale and Simone Nebbia, host Viviana Varese and brothers Christian and Manuel Costardi. The latter is in this photo, preparing Carnaroli rice with rabbit, foie gras, cream of Piedmontese cheese and wine reduction.

...and chatting with a guest of honour, Renzo Arbore.

Narrating an event in 28 photos: we’ve tried to do so in this gallery which, thanks to the pictures taken by Francesca Brambilla and Serena Serrani, sums up all that happened on Monday afternoon (and then in the evening) at Eataly Smeraldo in Milan, the place chosen for the presentation of the Identità Golose 2015 guide, eighth edition, the second published by Mondadori, signed, as always, by its creator and curator, Paolo Marchi. This event was also the chance to summarize all the activities under the Identità Golose and Magenta Bureau, the operating arm, two brands experiencing a strong development. Beautiful were the faces of those awarded, smiling were the many people who participated in the ceremony, among whom the almost one hundred contributors who wrote the reviews, acknowledged and thanked from the stage by their coordinator Gabriele Zanatta. The guide is made of 678 reviews each for one fine dining restaurant (473 in Italy, 205 abroad; as many as 183 new entries. There are 33 countries represented, including 3 new ones: Canada, Russia and Argentina). Among the authors of the introductions: Joe Bastianich, on the evolution of today’s restaurants; Antonino Cannavacciuolo, on his dessert philosophy, linked to the “wow factor”; and finally Marchi himself, under the title "Beauty, courage and determination will save us". Enjoy reading! (In order to access the photo-gallery, click on one of the photos in the top right corner)
