The fourth edition of Identità New York, 4-6th October 2013, confirms the synergy with Eataly and the strengthening of the collaboration with the Expo – an important event that awaits the city of Milan in 2015. The capital of Lombardy, this year too has given its patronage to the event, while Fipe – the Bilateral institution for national tourism – once again shows its attention to the international promotion of the Italian restaurant sector.
The focus of the lessons held by 12 great chefs will be on those raw materials that make Italian cuisine and not only that great – egg, pasta, salted codfish, tomato, cheese and rice. Not only that but the support of the leading food companies in Italy becomes more and more significant. In particular, Consorzio del Grana Padano will see its differently matured cheeses interpreted during some of the cooking classes by chefs of the calibre of Sara Jenkins and Viviana Varese and they will be also offered as an aperitif during the two gala dinners scheduled on the 4th and 5th of October inside Eataly’s Birreria.

Acqua Panna and S. Pellegrino, once again the official waters of the Manhattan event
The versatility of
Acqua Panna and S. Pellegrino will be unveiled in the pairing with the dishes presented during the classes. Their characteristics will be explained by a professional sommelier. The same will go for the labels of
Fontanafredda – Casa E. di Mirafiore. There will also be a focus on our national symbol across the world, that is to say pasta, thanks to
Monograno Felicetti and to the ideas that have inspired chefs
Cesare Battisti and
Sara Jenkins to give some exclusive interpretations to be enjoyed by the participants of the seminars and of the gala dinners.
Lavazza will have the task of closing the dinners according to Italian tradition with their precious blends and it will also award a famous family for their contribution in spreading Italian culture and “Made in Italy” cuisine in the United States. There will also be some important toasts with the special edition – a world preview – of Mionetto’s Luxury, Identità NY’s official Prosecco. There will be some more Italian bubbles in the glasses at the beginning of the cooking classes thanks to Berlucchi’s Franciacorta. Birra Moretti will have the task of illustrating the beer-world, with its Birra Moretti classica and Birra Moretti La Rossa, and of giving an Italian touch to a world that is usually a prerogative of Northern Europe.

Massimo Bottura together with Sara Peirone of Lavazza
To finish the wine overview, there will be those of
Marchiopolo, a winery owned by the Marchiorello family, which will be paired with the recipes presented during the cooking classes and the gala dinner on Friday the 5th. The other protagonists will be
Consorzio Olio Toscano IGP, with its oil available in the kitchen and during the gala dinners, the Apulian region will be represented by
Agricola Paglione’s tomato preserves,
Agroittica Lombarda’s
Calvisius caviar will be the protagonist of
Carlo Cracco’s dish, while
Latterie Venete – Fior di Maso will present their excellent dairy products for the first time in the United States.
These are all the treasures of Italy that the American public has had the chance to taste and buy during the promotional month of September, in the food store on 5th Avenue. Last but not least, the speaker-chefs will wear the uniforms designed by Bragard, the sponsor who signs the events of Identità Golose both in Milan and abroad.
